SATURDAY WORLD CUP and ROYAL ASCOT preview

first_img[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ive days of Royal Ascot come to an end this afternoon with another minefield six races for punters to solve.I dropped 13 points yesterday with My Titania failing to win the Coronation Stakes and Italy v Costa Rica NOT finishing as a draw. Two winners so far on the week for Sir Michael Stoute and Telescope has been well backed with Star Sports this morning. He’s been a frustrating horse so far in that he has missed a number of big races, for one reason or another, but should be suited by the faster ground today.Telescope has finished second to Noble Mission in both his races this season and for me now looks a little short in the market here one to take on.Stable companion Hillstar is certainly a big threat after his win here last year in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes.Aidan O’Brien’s runner Eye of The Storm is not certain to be suited by the drop back in distance. He has been running well over longer trips.O’Brien could do better in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes – a Group 1 – with the unexposed Due Diligence. This is a massive step-up in class for him but I was taken by his win at Naas last time out in a Listed race and he is very much preferred to the stables other runner Darwin who was bitterly disappointing first time out this season. In the football it could easily by the night for favourites. Argentina and Germany look certainties in their respective matches and I’m adding in Bosnia in the late kick off for a treble that is currently paying around 15/8.RECOMMENDED BET (scale of 1-50 points)3 points DUE DILIGENCE (4.25 Royal Ascot) at around 7/1 with Star Sports6 points treble ARGENTINA/BOSNIA and GERMANY at around 15/8 with Star SportsWORLD CUP RETURNS SO FAR: PROFIT 2.46 POINTSWhat’s your view?
