Industry confidence spreads through Asia Pacific

first_imgAsia Pacific’s MICE industry is more confident that this year will bring more events into the region than last year, according to a new study. An American Express Meetings and Events survey found that up to 57 percent of meeting experts from across the region expect the number of meetings to increase in 2012 while only 42 percent in North America share the same thought.Europeans are also sticking to the positive with 51 percent expecting more events in the area compared to 50 percent of Latin Americans.Meanwhile budgets are also up in the Asia Pacific region with 30 percent more money for the MICE industry to spend compared to 20 percent globally.American Express Meetings and Events vice president Issa Jouaneh said the growth in the Asia Pacific region has been driven by better local economies. “As companies in the region continue to increase activity in the meetings and event space, it is even more important for them to manage costs – knowing where and when to spend money – as well as ensuring effectiveness,” Mr Jouaneh explained.“Evaluating whether meeting goals have been achieved is essential for building engaging and strong performing meetings whether they be help virtually or face-to-face.” Source = e-Travel Blackboard: N.Jlast_img
